Restaurants On England’s Seafood Coast
Here you’ll find a guide to some of the best restaurants on England’s Seafood Coast specialising in seafood.
Perhaps the closest restaurant to the source of fish in the UK. Rockfish Brixham sits in the world famous fish market overlooking the boats as they land their catch which is in our kitchen an hour or so later. They have seating for 80 inside and a further 80 on the terrace which looks directly down to the fishing fleet, the smaller boats start landing from around 5pm each day, its an exciting sight to see fish of all shapes and sizes coming ashore, there really isn’t a better place to enjoy seafood. They also have a full bar with South West ales, a great selection of quality wines and ice cold Estrella Galicia, a fantastic beer with seafood. Downstairs there is a takeaway and a cafe selling seafood breakfasts where the fishermen and buyers gather for a coffee and some grilled fish each day. Next door to the cafe is our fish room where we prepare fresh seafood from the market each day for our restaurants.
Brixham Fish Market
This was the first Rockfish restaurant, which overlooks the spectacular river Dart. The river is full of ever changing activity, from fishing & sailing boats to super yachts, there is something new and interesting everyday throughout the year. The restaurant has 90 covers with an upstairs area that can be hired for private celebrations and in warm days we have a small terrace to eat in the sun. During the colder months the restaurant is heated by a log burner which makes it a great place to come and enjoy seafood after a bracing walk by the sea. They also have a take-away situated at the top of the ramp of the Lower Ferry, serving thesame great seafood which can be enjoyed on the watersedge in Bayards cove with a cold pint from the Dartmouth Arms.
8 South Embankment
Sitting overlooking the Exeter quay Rockfish Exeter is a wonderful place to enjoy fresh seafood in the city.
9 Piazza Terracina
Rockfish Exmouth is located next to the town slipway overlooking the beautiful Exe estuary. The tide rips past the front of the dining room providing the perfect setting to enjoy some great seafood. Our chefs prepare fresh mussels from the estuary and other local fish which are prepared simply by either crisp frying, grilling or cooking over charcoal. On colder days the restaurant and deck are heated by a log burner and make the atmosphere warm and cosy as the tide continues to run past.
This is the perfect destination for seafood lovers. The restaurant overlooks the ocean, and is right next door to the National Marine Aquarium where you can see fish from all over the world and learn about the great work they do in preserving and managing our marine environment. The famous Plymouth fish market is just feet from our front door and from Rockfish you can watch the boats land. They have 120 covers at this restaurant, 50 in the takeaway and seating for 100 outside for guests using our takeaway and bar to use. In the colder months our restaurant is heated by log burner which makes it a cozy environment to enjoy great seafood with a view of the ocean.
